INNOVATE EVERY DAY IN PATIENT CARE

Our commitment: to be attentive to the needs of our patients and their entourage and offer them personalized and coordinated care throughout their journey.

SHORT WAIT TO MAXIMIZE HEALTH CHANCES

Reduced wait in Day Hospital
Thanks to the implementation of two innovative programs, “Chimio Program” and “Quick Chimio“, care of patients is optimized in a day hospital while guaranteeing the quality of medical and nursing care.
1 to 2 days before chemotherapy, the patient has a blood test and a nurse from the Center contacts him with the results.
Day D-1, the doctor studies the patient’s file and prescribes the treatment, which can be prepared in advance.
D-Day, the patient arrives at the scheduled time and is welcomed and installed. Temperature and pulse are checked and chemotherapy is administered. . without waiting

DISSPO DAY HOSPITAL

The Day Care Support Hospital was created in 2014. It provides multidisciplinary reception in one day and is intended for patients of the Center presenting various symptoms associated with their pathology and aims to globally improve their quality of life.
During this day, the entire team is available to answer patients’ questions and adapt their treatments. It is also an opportunity to discuss the place where patients live and propose support for caregivers.
There are four beds available daily from Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm; the algologist will be assisted by a nurse, a care assistant and all those necessary in respect of patient’s needs.

PROVIDING PHYSICAL ACTIVITY FOR PATIENTS CURRENTLY BEING TREATED

The Hematology Continuous Care Unit in is a service for haematological cancer patients during periods of prolonged aplasia (deep decrease of white blood cells, blood platelets) with the risk of major infection. The average length of stay is 3 to 4 weeks.
In partnership with CAMI Sport and Cancer, Malakoff Médéric and the Laurette Fugain Association, Lacassagne can provide patients therapeutic activity during their stay.
A medical sport trainer comes to the inpatient rooms twice week ly for the duration of a patient’s stay. As well as reducing treatment side effects, the medico-sports trainer will register the patient in a programme to help him evacuate stress related to illness and hospitalization.

For patients currently being treated at the Antoine Lacassagne Center and the CAMI Sport & Cancer, and with the support of the National Sport Agency, the Malakoff Médéric Humanis social protection group and the City of Nice, the Sport & Cancer Center offers you:
• Support over a minimum of six months with two sports therapy sessions per week.
• Regular follow-up with the healthcare teams with one consultation every three months.

PATIENT THERAPEUTIC EDUCATION OR HOW TO TEACH PATIENTS TO TAKE OWNERSHIP OF THEIR ILLNESS AND ITS MANAGEMENT

The Hospital, Patients, Health and Territories Act of 21 July 2009 lists “Therapeutic Education” in the patient care pathway.
Increase in life expectancy of cancer patients, length of care and multiplicity of treatments, have enabled the development of therapeutic education, initially for chronic diseases. (diabetes, kidney failure …), to help maintain and improve their quality of life.

Therapeutic education combines medicine, health education, and human and social sciences.
At the Antoine Lacassagne Center, this programme is proposed to all patients by a doctor or caregiver from the Center or another institution that does not have a therapeutic education programme, but also by patients’ general practitioners.
