MINDFUL MEDITATION PROGRAMME – MBSR
This programme is open to all patients of the Antoine Lacassagne Center.
Do you want to discover or improve your knowledge of mindfulness taught as part of the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction protocol founded by Professor Jon Kabat Zinn in the United States more than 40 years ago?
This programme aims to teach how you can take
care of yourself, develop resources to deal with illness by training yourself
to pay attention to your bodily sensations and your breathing to establish
inner calm, become familiar with thoughts, emotions and sensations whether they
are experienced as pleasant, unpleasant or neutral, and develop an openness to
others and to the world beyond reactivity patterns.
This programme is scientifically validated
thanks to numerous clinical research studies, which have demonstrated benefits
on pain, anxiety, depression and the quality of life of patients with chronic
diseases.
It consists of an initiation workshop, eight
weekly sessions on Fridays and an online practical day.
The workshops are led by Dr Kenza BOUREDJI, a
hospital medical practitioner in oncology and MBSR instructor trained by the
Mindfulness Center at Brown University.
The pedagogical approach will be experiential
with alternating formal mindfulness practices (body scan, conscious body
movements, sitting meditation, conscious walking) and moments for sharing and
discussion.
The exercises are perfectly accessible to
everyone regardless of their difficulties, disabilities, illnesses and
symptoms.
